ANNOUNCING AUDITIONS FOR ALL INSTRUMENTS

The ESO is holding its annual auditions for all sections of the orchestra on Tuesday evening August 19 at First Presbyterian Church of Edgewood, starting at 7 pm.  The church is located at 120 E. Swissvale Ave., Edgewood, 15218.

At present all string sections have openings for players with experience.  Other sections of the orchestra have no openings at present, but openings do occur periodically through the season.  Sometimes a temporary opening occurs when we need a sub.

The ESO's Mission:
The Edgewood Symphony Orchestra is made up of volunteer musicians who, under the leadership of a professional Conductor and Concertmaster, the ESO strives to maintain the highest quality of performance consistent with a volunteer orchestra.

The ESO nurtures a tradition of classical symphonic music on the community level and functions as an integral part of the community in ways that are consistent with maintaining artistic integrity and fiscal responsibility. The ESO provides its host community with prestigious cultural events, exposure to classical music, and publicity for the community. Through a standard performance series, and via collaborative outreach and educational programs, the ESO establishes important links among professional musicians, amateur musicians, high school musicians, and the community at large.
